Asking for help is hard. It’s vulnerable and our society tries to tell us that only weak people can’t handle things on their own, but our God says otherwise. I spoke at church a few weeks back and part of what God taught me during that preparation was that, Yes, he takes care of us. He sees our needs and has us in his hand. But sometimes God’s plan for taking care of you is the community that he has placed around you. He is calling us to lean in to the community he has made for us and be vulnerable.
Its hard.
I hesitated even starting this blog because it’s scary. Scary what people might think… what they might say. But at the end of the day, God called me to step forward and share. To lean into our community both local and across the country. Sharing has been hard, but it has been affirming to have our community reach out in support. We are grateful for you all and will continue to lean on you and ask for help when we need it.
So many of you have reached out and said you are praying with us and it means so so much. Several of you have asked how you can specifically be praying so below I have a list of things we are praying about and needing help with.
Pray with us:
- Continued progress at home
- Guidance and wisdom as we parent Stevie through this
- Wisdom and clarity with the Psychologist Stevie will see
- Patience for Aubrey and me
- Clear steps moving forward and the discipline to incorporate tools and strategies at home
- Continued success with our nanny and deepening of that relationship
- Finances – we live really tight with finances right now and have for the past few years – but these added expenses of appointments and resources to help navigate this add a lot of strain financially
